Change Coming to 2014 RAM Lineup in the Form of New Engine Options

Exciting news for drivers in the Stillwater, OK area who desire the utmost in performance from their pickup truck! The RAM Truck brand had recently announced that the upcoming lineup of their Heavy Duty pickups will feature a new option in the form of a brand new 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine. This engine is slated to produce power that will be the very best in its class with a horsepower of 410 and 429 pound-feet of torque in addition to an efficient VVT with Fuel Saver cylinder deactivation.

However, this isn't the only engine option for the 2014 RAM lineup. Drivers can also choose from a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine and 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6 engine.

The 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine is the powerhouse that comes standard on RAM 2500 and 3500 models with the ability to generate 383 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of true alongside of a six-speed transmission.

On the other hand, the 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output Turbo Diesel I-6 offers a little more versatility in its three variants. The first offers drivers a horsepower of 350 and is mated with a six-speed manual transmission. The second churns out 370 horsepower and is pareied alongside of a 68RFE six-speed automatic transmission. The final option of the 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output Turbo Diesel I-6 is available exclusively in the RAM 3500 and produces 385 horsepower with an Aisin six-speed automatic transmission.

Drivers will find no limits in the options that are provided to them in terms of powerful engines in the upcoming 2014 RAM Heavy Duty lineup. Production of these new RAM vehicles will begin this fall and start at a price of $29,600, not including a $1,095 destination fee.
